Where do I go to take my senior photos in Boise, Idaho?

Your senior year is fast approaching and you know you need senior photos taken before the yearbook deadline and your summer tan starts to fade away, but where do you go?! Other than “What do I wear for my senior photo session??” this is the next question that I am asked so I wanted to put together something visual for seniors and their parents to look at while choosing which location in Meridian/Boise/Eagle area.

Downtown Boise

This is always one of my favorites to go in any down because you will have a good mix of buildings both old and new to work with, neon lights in the evening and lots of character. It is definitely nice that you are able to just move to a different block if there is another photographer working there as well. Another great thing you will notice about downtown vs another location is that is is pretty much the same year round, you don’t have to worry about scheduling only during the prettiest months of the year. While you are downtown make sure to allow time to check out https://www.pieholeusa.com/ and https://www.boisefork.com/

Reid Merrill Park

This park located in Eagle, Idaho looks like a great playground for kids from the parking lot with a fantastic view of the water feature but when you walk past the playground and cross the bridge there are several spots boosting with potential for your senior photos. Next door to Reid Merrill is one of my favorite restaurants https://bardenay.com/ . Cross over Eagle Road behind https://tworiversspa.com/ and you will find an equally gorgeous area along the Boise River to use in your photos.

Boise Foothills

The foothills are a signature look for treasure valley seniors and are a great option to show of some of Idaho’s beauty.

Greenhouse/Nursery

Who doesn’t absolutely love plants and all things green? If I could keep plants alive I would have them all over my house but for now I will have to admire them while I visit. Greenhouses have some of the most soft diffused light available especially during some of the hours of the day that are too harsh outside for photos. Taking your senior photos at a local green house is always a good choice. Photos below were taken at https://www.edwardsgreenhouse.com/

Wilson Ponds

While this location is about 30 minutes from Boise, it’s a great location with a lot to offer. Wilson Ponds are located in Nampa, Idaho and rarely are as packed with people as some of the other locations in Boise and Meridian. I love this little off the beaten path spot!
